Has anyone heard of the crazy 8's
« on: April 15, 2007, 01:54:34 PM »
There was a sort of club in the late 70's that flew in forest park NY called the crazy8's. They would fly with 8 guys in circle at one time. It was sometimes very comical. Just wanted to know if anyone else had ever seen them Thanks John

Used to belong to the Forest Park MAC years back. Yup I remember the club, although I could not name names after all these years. We flew out of Flushng Meadow Park most of the time. The last time we tried it at FMP we had 4 up at a time, We were alot older by then. It was around 1996 or there abouts.

Yes, I have heard of them.  I even think I had a Crazy 8's patch somewhere.  The patches were being sold at a meet in Flushing Meadow Park. Walter, of "Build it Right", was a member I believe.   Take Care,  Mike Boucher ;)

Hi Guys,
here is a link to the first three minutes of the video.  http://www.builtrightflyright.com/NYCrazy8sMAC__FIRST_3.29MINUTES.mpg

If you have high speed internet, go to my website and after you click on "Enter Site" you will find a link where you can download the full length Crazy 8's video.

My Dad was the club prez for the first 7 years of the clubs existance, we had an average of 75 active  members at the time he stepped down. the club lasted for a few years after that as the membership faded down to a handful of members at which time they decided to fold the club.

here's a picture of the club patch.

I managed to download the entire movie.  Its big.  999 megabytes plus.  Took me at 300K per sec about an hour.

But its great except I get a little motion sickness when stuff moves like that.  But it is a great insight into what a great club was doing in the heydays.

Best to all
