Harold Price Crusader American Modeler 1962
« on: September 27, 2020, 06:37:58 AM »
In 1999 in Arlington VA,  I built my first Harold Price Crusader with a GMA Fox 35, Rev-Up 10x6 EW propeller at 48 oz.  It was a great Classic Era Stunt ship and I flew it all over the east coast from Jacksonville, FL to Garden State, NJ, Brodak, and VSC.  The Fox strained to do the verticals and one had to energy manage it to get through the pattern.  I finally gave it to one of the NVCL members for Christmas in the early 2000s.  Recently Carl Foster of NVCL contacted me, as he now has it. Neat.

So it only figures that I would build another here in Arizona.  The second weighs 48 oz. like the first, no retracts, and powered by an Ebay OS-40 FP with a XOAR wood 2 blade 11x5 propeller.  It is much better in the pattern than the first, corners well, and is a lot of fun to fly.  Try it, you will like it.

Tom obviously has the proper way of dealing with the Covid lock-down: When life gives you lemons, build classic stunt-ships.    ;D
