Tom Dixon Super Chief
« on: May 29, 2012, 03:59:44 PM »
Anybody out there have any experience with this airplane?   It is a Tom Dixon plan for a 46-60 powered enlarged Chief, not the Joe Wagner Super Chief that is OTS (I think).  I have plans.  Looks kind of strange but easy to build.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi Joseph,

I built one years and powered it with an Enya .60.  Flew well, and was an easy build.

A local flier flew one for a number of years around here. I don't remember what it was powered with but it flew great. It was on my to-build list for awhile but never gotaroundtuit  8)

A local guy (Dave Royer) had one for years. Powered by a Merco 60. It was a really cool plane. It was the best sounding stunt run on the planet. A real honker.

Tom Hampshire has brought one to Brodak, I think it has a Tigre 60 that sounds like it is loafing along...
