I got up early today and raised the flag. I stood there with more than a few tears in my eyes as I remembered my Dad, an immigrant to this wonderful land. Dad served in WW1 and gained his citizenship because of his service. His brother Frank also served in WW1 and was KIA in June of 1918 at the age of 17, haven lied about his age to get into the Army. He lies at peace in France in a beautiful piece of America. my youngest son served in 'Desert Storm", and his son Logan is a Marine serving in Afghanistan. Dispite all the errors that our nation has lived through I still believe that the Declaration of Independence, the Bill of Rights and our Constitution were truly inspired by God and remain the greatest pieces of the English language that have ever been written. how else could a very comman man like me ever have achieved anythbiung of lasting value? Thank you Dad, Thank you Frank, thank you all you wonderful old men that have kept our nation free, and an everlasting prayer of gratitude to the God that made all this possible.
