Dear Brothers,

You may have served in Combat or in non-combat. You may have retired out or you may have served for a short time. You may have been a draftee or a volunteer. You may have served in the Corps, Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard or the Merchant Marines, BUT YOU SERVED. You did not run off to England or Canada, etc. YOU DID YOUR JOB HONORABLY and for that I am PROUD to call you Brother/Sister.

You may have served during Korea, WWII,. Vietnam, Persian Gulf, Iraq or Afghanistan, But you served, you did not run. You have a DD 214 with those words "HONORABLY DISCHARGED" the two most noble words in the world. Again I am proud to know each and every one of you.

Brother-Sister, life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don't, just because you can. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. Know this, if it changes your life, let it. Take a few minutes to think before you act when you're mad. Forgive quickly. God never said life would be easy, he just promised it would be worth it.

Today is Band of Brothers' Day, send this to all your brothers, fathers, sons and fellow veterans you know.

Happy Brothers' Day!

To the cool men that have touched my life: Here's to you!! I was never a hero, but I am thankful I served among them.

A real Brother walks with you when the rest of the World walks on you.

Well said my brother. USAF 1965 to 1969. If you are wondering why I didn't server the whole four years, back then if you came back for SEA with less than 6 months left on your enlistment you got an early out. The Air Force was starting to thin its ranks preparing for the war to end. Boy were they in for a supprise.

Amen Brother.

I did not serve, but my Father did, and he instilled in me the respect for our flag, and the debt I owe to the members of our Armed Forces.
The 1st thing I did this morning was Post the Colors, and recite my Pledge of Allegiance. It made me feel good.

USAF 1952-1956, but I'm no hero! Didn't have to shoot at anyone except some paper targets. That was good!

Great stuff and so true! US Army FA Forward Observer 80-86. I feel fortunate to still occassionally speak with a fellow soldier I went through basic and two tours with! He will always be my most trusted friend and considered my brother as are all who served.

US Army 1952 - 1955. Morse code school at Fort Devens MA, then went to Japan for two years. classified as korean war vet although I never saw combat. Proud to serve.

And a very happy belated birthday to you as well. I always appreciated the respect paid during veterans day but never looked upon the 4th in that way. Thank You for opening my eyes to the relationship between us veterans and our forefathers.

I know it is well past the day. I was not allowed to serve when I spent two days of my life trying to get in. Passed all tests with flying colors and thought I was on my way. But, then the man behind the desk told me not to try enlisting in any of the services anymore as I was classified 4F. So it was back to the farm for a while and I watched as classmates, friends and relatives go serve our country. That 4F rating kept me from being hired on a couple of jobs.

So I want to thank all the people that have served this great country of ours.

If I was you, I'd have snuck in anyway!!! You shoulda went on up to Oakland Calif. You can't believe the inbred hillbillies they let in over there!

I still miss the NAS atmosphere from time to time. Nearly shipped over, often wonder why I chose not to.
