Happy Birthday ol' boy! Hope you're getting to do something fun today. Or interesting, or at least stimulating #^. Man, what I wouldn't give to be 58 again Lol.

I saw your BD on the list at CEF.
Take care, Dude
Rusty

And here, I hope you like her

Thanks fellers. Did three shows on my birthday. Got one today too. Hope to get out and fly next week.
Spent last week thru hiking a trail in NC/SC. Also was involved in a mountain rescue.....scary day. The Blackhawk crew was amazing.

Shug

Many years back I was a S&R mountain climber at Fort Lewis and we did many rescues off Mt Rainier after being dropped off by Chinook CH 47 helicopter

A few years ago my brother and his daughter fell off a Colorado mountain and the S&R was five days finding their bodies.

Our whole family traveled to CO and waited as the search progressed. Later the S&R crew briefed us on the search and retieval, once knowing I was prior S&R I got the un abridged report and video

Your video is very good and a great outcome

BUT i must add: NOT for Shug specifically but all reading this

Every region or state S&R team operates on a very limited budget and just the Helicopter flight time and maintenance is horribly expensive. Knowing this I (as the Executor of my brother will) gifted $10,000 to the S&R team

Every S&R team in your area has a web site and a way to make donations.... almost all the members are volunteers but they do need good safe reliable equipment

I also must encourage anyone who wants to adventure like this to please consider a personal locator beacon... MY brother and niece both survived the 5000 foot fall/tumble but eventually died of injuries and exposure due to the lengthy process of initial not check in, and delay beginning of the search, and five day later discovery at bottom of a ravine.

Sorry to sound so preachy in Shrug's most well deserved Happy Birthday

Wow Fred. So sorry to hear about your brother and his daughter.
The copter crews and calltaker paramedics were heroic.
I was contacted by a Major that trains the Blackhawk crews and they are going to use the video I shot for training videos.
Also, if you do carry a beacon or the likes, make sure it is very secure to the body. My freind had a lot of stuff fly off of him and it even tore his pants off.

Happy birthday shug and thanks for a good video.   Those mountains and canyons are scary, but I guess if you know what you are doing it's not bad.  Stay safe.
