Title: Hand-made trophies for our contest...
Post by: Scott Richlen on September 19, 2014, 04:27:38 PM
After seeing the hand-made trophies that some clubs are using, NVCL decided to join in on the fun.  Our contest is Saturday, September 27th and here are pictures of some of our trophies.  They will go to the 1st place winners in PA and Old-Time.

And more...

We made these last winter (during building season, of course) and made a contest of it.

Of course, not everyone got there's done in time.

Our MCLS contest has very unique home made trophies made by our club president, Everett Shoemaker.
He cuts out outlines or profiles of various Stunt, Carrier and Combat designs.
For our May contest he copied many of Allen Brickhaus designs for our Stunt awards.
The Carrier awards are profiles of actual carrier aircraft.
The combat awards depict the current Russian RTF designs for Speed Limit and 1/2a. Vintage combat has the Flite Streak profile for Profile or Upright entries and the Voodoo outline for Sidewinder entries.
He has done a superb job on these trophies and are appreciated by all who receive them.

I was one of the lucky guys who won one of these unique items! My luck came in OTS and the NVCL's drawing sequence allowed me to pick my choice! I chose the P-40 specimen as made by Scott Richlen! Its the ONLY trophy that I have deemed appropriate enough to place in my Family Room with the Boss' approval as well!
