I am very 😢sad. Tuesday evening we had to put down our sweet dog, Beau.
What a wonderful companion this dog has been.

Gordon you have my sympathies, my little guy passed away 7 months ago and I miss him every day.

Our dog friends are the best of all. Always there with a wag and delight to see us, unswerving loyalty no matter what.

It is hard when they go.  We have a little Yorkie and I know the day is coming.  Sorry for your loss Gordon.

Kim and I wish to express our profound sympathies for you.

Over the years we have had to put down in our arms four of our incredibly loved kitties one of which we shared our togetherness for nineteen years.

Words are only minimally comforting in times like this but rest assured that we are deeply understanding and that your beloved pet will live in your hearts and memories forever.

With caring thoughts for you,

Robert and Kim.

Gordan, you have my total sympathy.  I've had to put down the family dog after many years of togetherness, and I'm not ashamed to say I cried a flood.

We have one now that's reached 10-1/2 years and I absolutely dread the day we lose her.

I was able to "adopt" a stray when I was 8 years old.  We lived about 1-1/4 miles from my high school, and I much preferred walking instead of buses.  My friends always seemed startled when "Rex" would be waiting on the front steps for me when the school day ended.  We had many good years together.

There simply aren't words to describe that kind of companionship and loyalty.

Hi Gordon,

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. At least you'll continue to have the memories and photos of your beloved friend. Thank you for sharing. I think all the time about my dogs I've lost over the years. On the bright side, our current dog had 10 puppies a few weeks ago that kept us up again last night. They'll make great companions for someone.  :)

Best Regards,

Bill Schwagerman

Friends, family, beloved pets...enjoy them each day, for tomorrow is promised to no one.  Every community has a shelter with hopeful future loyal companions. When some of the hurt is gone, seek out your next best friend!

I've lost both dogs and cats, still miss every one of them, and the two little heart stealers now abiding in the Hinton household are in charge, but one is 13 and the other 11, so time is getting closer to more heartbreak.  My simpathies are with you my friend, it hurts like the very blazes.

Hate to read of all the losses through the years  I have buried many cats and dogs through the years but one I have now has been closer than any of the others.  I should say three as there are is one the guys have not met.  He is the male of the house.  Have been told several times I need to put him down because once in a while he has seizures, but as long as I give him his hemp he is okay.  I do not to forward that day.  As Sandy, Prissy and Teddy are my shop companionsand beside me in the house.

Gordon,

My sympathies go out to you.  I have a very difficult time losing a pet. Its almost harder for me to deal with than the loss of a relative.  I am facing this same situation very soon. Our black lab, Daisy, is in failing health. She will be 16 next month.  My youngest ( nearing 18) cannot recall a time when we didn't have Daisy.

This dog has been an incredible survivor, much to the dismay of my wallet. At 7 months she came down with Parvo.  That was UGLY! 5 days at the Vet and a big bill later.....  Then at about 3 she got hit by a car. Worst injury was a broken tail which healed ok. Another Vet bill.  At about 6 she got into some raw salmon a neighbor had discarded. If you don't know, the raw fatty skin of salmon is toxic to dogs!  That was another 5 days in at the Vet, with accompanying bill.  Lately it was a series of bladder infections that brought on urinary incontinence, much to the dismay of my carpet. Another visit and some medication have corrected this.

Now old age is stealing up on her.  She sleeps most of the time. Her hearing is virtually gone, and her eyesight isn't real good. She doesn't get up and move too well, but she still gets excited and tries to run around a little when we come home.  I know this is her last season with us, and we aren't looking forward to the inevitable.  But she has been a great companion for a long time.

When she was young one of her favorite things was to try to get the kids feet when they would bounce on the trampoline.  When she couldn't get the feet, she would settle for stealing their shoes, which she would promptly run away with.  The, with help from the kids, she discovered jumping over the fence.  That lead to many events scouring the neighborhood trying to figure out where she went this time. She would get bored in the yard and just set out for a walk about.

We also have 3 small dogs. One we recently inherited, and two that we had already.  The oldest of these, Tilly, is 7.5lbs of overweight Chihuahua/Pug mix.  She is 10, and her favorite spot to ride in the car is nestled on my shoulders behind my neck. She can look out the windows that way and bark viciously at any other dog that has the audacity to also be going for a ride or a walk. She is now showing signs of age as well, with some recently diagnosed arthritis in her hips and knees.  Medication seems to be helping.

Anyway, Ive gone on far longer than I intended to.  Im sorry for your loss.

Hi Gordy,

I'm very sorry you lost your canine friend!  I've seen many come and go over the years but it never seems to get easier!

I try to have two dogs at all times in the hopes that it will make the parting of one a little less painful!  It never seems to work however!

Kaye and I recently lost one of our Poms and it still hurts.  Losing a friend is never easy.

My deepest sympathies my friend!

Deepest sympathy. We had a miniature Dachshund, Zippy who was 19 when we had to have him put down. He had a good run but it was still, one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. Still miss him.
