H2O in the basement - good or bad/
« on: June 30, 2008, 05:27:39 PM »
Hi Y'all,
Well, we had real deluge the other day and the creek that runs by my place flooded high enough that it backed up into the basement drains and gave me between two and three inches of water on the floor!  I got home just in time to rescue my two personal guitars from the stands, it was about a half inch from them, and since I keep my amps on tiltbacks they were also untouched.  PTL!
That didn't keep the basement from smelling up the whole town after the flood subsided, though, so I'm in the process of cleaning and disinfecting the entire basement.  We have most everything out and I'm goin' ta town on it!
But - good can come from bad ya know.  I went to Menards today looking for another linoleum remnant to put down in my finish shop.  That area is as much of my showroom as the studio next to it is since a lot of customers like to stand and watch me set up their instruments so I like it to look nice.
LOOK WHAT I FOUND!!!!!!!!!  A precut remnant that came within 6 inches of being the perfect size for the area for just under a hundred and twenty bucks!  I think it looks fabulous and will I ever build better airplanes with this to stand on! #^ #^ #^ #^ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ y1 y1 H^^ H^^ H^^ H^^
Blessings,
Will

It does look nice, Will, but don't ever, ever drop anything on it! The dropped item will never be seen again.

On bad days you can have a checkers party. Looks like you have room for about four games at once. I had the same thing happen to me when I lived in Montana. You are right about getting the smell to go away. HB~> HB~>

That looks fabulous.  That is the main reason I am leaving my dungeon for the new shop.  DOC Holliday

Hey Will,

I think you better add more glue, if you look at the floor long enough the checkers start to move. n~

Didn't work, Walter - I showed this to the wife and she promised physical harm to both the perpetrator AND the "glue dropper" if it starts to look like the other did.  says "lettem move, just deal with it."
(Actually she's a non-violent lady who supports my hobby 100 plus %!)
Hey Walter, got any king size checkers for those non-productive days?

I see the workbench is in proper order and it doesn't get noticed because the new flooring lets your eye go there. Just thought I would let the rest of the Bloggers in on it free of charge. LL~ LL~ LL~ HB~>
