It's been done more than once by Rev. Jim Sumner.

That's FOUR wings and two stabs. Twin. His previous model had 8 wings(two sets of 4 set behind one another). Twin again.
When I first met him 10 years ago, he campaigned with a Wright Brothers Flier replica powered by dual Saito 56's. The ONLY way I was able to beat him at the time was when one of the Saito's shut down prematurely. That model flew very well.

I haven't seen Jim for what seems like a hundred years! What a delightful guy to know and watch. Steve, is there a way I can get in touch with him?

I Have! The ones who have flown it were very complimentary. Original design, 920 sq. in., 78 ounces, OS 61. By Sleepy Gomez, Rising Star, Texas

I think it could be time to bail out of F3A competition.
Setting up at the field would take me a week!
