UKIE 35/40

Tom Dixon announces that he is marketing the “Ukie” 35 and 40 control line “ARF” models produced by Jim Pearson.  The “Ukies” were originally designed and produced by Joe Just.
These models come virtually complete.  All that is required is to epoxy the two wing halves to the pre-finished hardwood fuselage, and mount engine, tank, and landing gear.  With
controls slowed down, the “Ukies” make excellent trainers…and they are nearly indestructible!  However, trimmed properly, they are also capable of a very credible AMA stunt pattern.

The smaller “Ukie” is suitable for .25 to .35 engines.  The 40 size is best with OS FP/LA .40 to .46 size engines.Everyone should have a “Ukie” in their hangar for teaching others, bad weather flying, or just sport flying.

UKIE .35     $110.00
UKIE .40     $120.00

I have very fond memories of the series of Ukie 35's that I used to learn the pattern.  OS 25FPs up front swinging APC 9 x4s at about 11,000 rpm.  Crashed them, rebuilt them, crashed and rebuilt multiple times.  Out of three I think I had one usable one left by the time I could fly the pattern.  Rugged, easy to repair, the perfect trainer or stunt trainer.
Life is simple. Eat. Sleep. Fly!

Please advise best balance point for ukie40. I have one setup with B40, it is a bit too twitchy for me, might be ok for slow combat / speed limit but i want to setup for stunt pattern. Likely slightly tail heavy, needs some nose weight, but not sure how much i need.

Lyle,

My UKEY 40 balances on the spar as per the instructions. I do have extra nose weight since I used aluminum landing gear with 2 1/2" wheels. Power is B-40.
