Hi all,
Thanks to a manpower boost from our good friends in the Middlesex Modelers Club, we are able to reinstate the September 18 contest at our field in Lincoln Park. We will run PAMPA in all four classes, Classic in three classes (no beginner class) and Fun Scale with all classes combined. PAMPA winners will fly off for the D'Ottavio cup.
No practice flights after 9:00 AM
Official flights start at 9:30 AM
Coffee and Donuts will be available early-first come first served.

I'm glad that you are able to relist the contest and that it's a go. I'll do my best to encourage my stunt flying pals to join in on the fun.

Hi Gang,
Haven't heard from the New York group. Are any of you planning to attend?

Due to the original manpower problem, OTS was not on the sanction. Let's see how this combined club contest goes before we expand.
-
Ed,
We are planning to go.

Joe,
Thanks for jumping in on behalf of New York. This is going to be an interesting experiment and could set a precedent for future cooperative ventures. I'm working on judging and other assignments and trying to work it out that that judges just handle one class of one event. Don't forget that we are flying Fun Scale so any semi-scale stunter can fly the event. Looking forward to seeing all of you out there as this will be the last contest in our area for the season.

Correction,
The fly-off for the D'Ottavio cup will be among the Classic winners in Int, Adv. and Expert, not the PAMPA winners as posted earlier.

Ed, the weather forecast doesn't look too good for Sunday.....yikes
-
I don't know. The forecast doesn't look that bad to me. Winds at 5-10mph with a slight chance of morning showers. Looks like the real rain will hold off until the late afternoon. We're packing the car and getting ready to head on down,

We will be starting @ 9:00 AM. The back circle is in great shape and we will use both to stay ahead of the weather.

How many contests can claim a B-17 flyover ?
We had one today, low and slow as they say, over the GSCB field and it was awesome !
So much for the folks who think nothing much happens here as they motor on their way via the NJ Turnpike to NY .

Here is a photo of the fly by!
The weather turned out to be much better then predicted. It was a pretty good turn out. Thanks to all of the judges and people behind the scenes that made it happen.
Special thanks to Pete for the meatballs!!!!!!!!!!!
