Thank you

Mike,

I get mine from Tom Morris. 12" long. I cut them to the length needed based on rib spacing, although you could add a half rib anyplace.

I have no two models with the same length gear blocks.

I'll be placing an order with Tom, I need material AND gear blocks for the TEXACO 13 I'm building.  ;D

You should get Tom's four page catalog. He carries EVERYTHING needed for the CL modeler who builds.

Do you have a FAX?

Anyone with a table saw and a piece of wood can make them.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Table saw could work but wire channel would have to be controlled by blade kerf

Easier to do on the router before the final size is saw down on the table saw....or after final sizing of the blank

A router core bit, in 1/8" as example, set to correct depth and centered using easy to source X" by X" stock should not be hard to do fairly fast

Mike what dimensions and what is preferred wood?

I build mine up from ply,, I use 3/32 ply for the base plate, then two strips of light ply to form the channel

Thanks guys.  I don't have a table saw or a router that is why I outsource items like this.  Charles, I do not have a fax but I appreciate the thought.  The size I need is 3/8 x 3/4 with an 1/8" groove.  Fred I am not that particular about the species of wood, I guess Basswood or Maple would work fine

I fabricate mine from three pieces of wood glued together.  A perfect fit guaranteed.

The assembly is one continuous unit from right to left.

How about a High School wood shop or vocational school.  Talk with a teacher, give them a sketch of what you want and  some wood pieces.  Likely to be free or very minimal cost.
