When your boss sends you a random text saying that starting now you have 10 days vacation time to use and you don't have to wait 8 months for it....
Planning to attend Brodak!!!!!!!!!
Sorry had to tell someone lol

Consider going to Joe Nall [May] instead. Great c/l event, and a week long virtual RC Disneyworld.

Whatever you do will be great. You must work for a good outfit.

Pretty good people I'll say.
Normally vacation time runs from your hire date.. Mine being August 6th....this year I make 5 years with the company and going from only 5 days vacation to 10 days. But Bossman said it's easier to keep track with everyone's date just going January to January.
Was originally going to wait til next summer to go to Brodaks (if they would have it next year) but since this popped up...... just assume take advantage in case Brodaks isn't around 2018.

Congrats!
If I was faced with your situation, I would opt for Brodak's 100%. Joe Nall's gathering isn't put on by one of our own. From what I've seen/read, Brodak's is the closest thing you'll come to the C/L portion of the Nats of old.
Plus, I have zero interest in being around R/C for a week. Z@@ZZZ No wires: No fun! :)!

Joe Nall's is good but Brodaks is a Full WEEK of stunt combat and racing Oh and carrier and scale
-
Brodaks is a "Can't Miss" event. I went for the first time last year and it was incredible.....PhillySkip

I think Mark Weiss and Will Davis might disagree with you on this. If I remember correctly, Mark and Will CD'd both Brodak and the Joe Nall c/l event last year..

Deciding "which event to attend" is a great problem to have I would say!
Have fun.
I've been at my job for over 15 years, but the new contractor doesn't like honoring the federal contract rules. I should already have one more week of vacation accrual, but they also have my start date wrong, in their favor, not mine.
I'm averaging your vacation out with mine, so you'd best have a good time, and report back!!
Have fun!

Chris

GO TO BRODAK'S. I've been there about 11 times and it never gets OLD! I loved it so much that Ginny decided she was missing out on all the fun so she went with me in 15' and 16' and is looking forward to this year as well. You wont be sorry!

I too would love to get back to Brodaks. Would love to get back to the VSC in Tuscon, but things have changed. H^^

Mark Weiss and myself are honored to be associated with both events. Brodak's and Joe Nall are very special for any model airplane enthusiast.
Both are very different ,neither one more fun than the other , both should be on everyone's "bucket list "
I am fortunate that I can be involved with both events within a few weeks of each other .

From the very first Brodak FlyIn in 1997 through the most recent I have NEVER MISSED a Brodak FlyIn! As a UC competitor since 1963 until now I have attended and competed in many control line contests of most varieties including the US Nationals NONE of the others are anything like the FlyIn in John and Buzz's backyard! Joe Noll is likely quite nice and will only get nicer as time goes by, BUT the Brodak FlyIn is now on a year by year possibility. 2017 just might be the end of this line. I hope not but one never knows!
Now at almost 79 years of age I am going to compete for sure BUT I know that no matter what my results might be I will Always have had a fine time in the World's Largest Family Reunion the Brodak FlyIn! If you've never been get there this year!
