The "NEXT" thread
« on: December 17, 2022, 04:51:58 PM »
Just a warning guys.  Don't feel obligated to read the next thread about "ME".  (Ted's Thread)  I just stumbled across it while wandering the presses and got caught up in it.  It's old as the hills and probably of interest to nobody but me.

Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all.

I don't think that a whole heck of a lot of people realize just how much information is in the archives of this forum, and how much history that there is here also, and that we lived through it and experienced it first hand!  This is the main reason that I really miss Stuka Stunt also, for the history that was on there and preceded Stunthanger, and the participants that are no longer with us. it's one reason why I stress to new comers to learn to use the search function. I'm glad I got to live a lot of it and be witness to some of it first hand. In the last few days, we have been reminded of how short life is and now a few of our friends and heroes have "gone west" as the saying goes. Newcomers won't get to meet these greats of the hobby, but they can still benefit from their experience and wisdom here. Don't ever apologize for reviving an old thread with some new input! I'm pretty convinced that there are no new problems, just new people experiencing the old ones! New technology can come along and get interjected into the mix and absorbed as need by everyone, but what got us to this point in time is still pretty relevant and useful!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Ted, you write it, I'll read it, even if it's about a new brand of shaving cream!  Go for it! D>K H^^

Do you put the shaving cream on the high point of the leading edge of the wing or along the trailing edge of the elevator?  n~

A real stunter uses castor oil and the trailing edge of an APC prop!  :##

Extreme side note, but one of the best I've ever used is this: https://www.amazon.com/stores/page/FD7CCB71-CC1E-460C-87CF-08DAAFCDD708?ingress=2&visitId=89bb75f8-6c2b-477a-bca4-5b9de62ff6a5&ref_=ast_bln. I recommend the Bay Rum scent. Very rich lather and leaves you smelling & feeling great!

I do classic shaving, shave soap and a brush. But I'm not a purist, I still use the olde multiblade with handle. I think I get a ten point shave bonus if I switch to a straight edge.

I've been using a straight razor for the last 15 years. Once you get the hang of it, it's the best way to go. Using a safety razor or one of the plastic disposables always leads to at least a couple of knicks for me, but when I use my straight...no knicks, cuts, scrapes, or anything other than a nice, smooth, comfortable shave.
