Here is a message I just now sent to my DMAA club members. I suggest that all CL folks look long and hard at it and stay for the time being with the paper applications.

Hello, all;
If you are a Contest Director, you probably received notice from AMA about a new system for submitting sanction applications via the web. As you know, I am the Contest Coordinator for AMA District VIII, and all CL/FF sanction applications must come through me before they are acted upon by AMA HQs.
As you also know, virtually EVERY CL contest has a number of "unofficial" events, i.e., events that are not specified in the AMA rule book. In fact many of our contests have MORE non-rule book events than rule book events!
And another thing: many of our contests (notably Speed and Carrier) will group multiple rule-book events together as a single event and flown as % of the national record.
The new web-based sanction application does NOT ALLOW ANY OF THAT TO BE CONSIDERED! In fact, it does not appear that it can be done!
I have brought this to AMA's attention, but until they get the system "tweaked" (as they call it), it simply is not useable for CL and FF contests.
So: for the time being, I ask that you do NOT use the electronic submission but continue using the paaper sanction application as we have done before.
Regards,
Bill Lee
