Great day at the field
« on: August 17, 2008, 11:57:10 PM »
We had one of those near perfect days at the field in Tulsa Sunday. Not too hot, mild wind, a few clouds to hide the sun from time to time, and a good turnout of members. If we could get the same weather for the upcoming contest it would be fantastic.

Yes it was a fantastic weekend and we have a new club member. Welcome aboard Doug..

I had been having a few run issues with a new Saito Golden Knight 40a. Thanks to the wachfull eyes of Joe Gilbert we discovered the seal between the intake tube and head was leaking allowing air to enter the intake at the head. A touch of high temp RTV seems to have solved the problem. Was using the old TwistMaster as a test bed and it's now running great...

Great shots as usual Elwyn.

I may be wrong but I doubt it.
I wouldn't take her to a dog fight even if she had a chance to win.

We had a great day in Topeka with the TOPCLASS meet for Classic and P-40.  I flew my Sheek's Spitfire and the Brodak Original Magician.  I think Jim will post the results on here.  But, you guys look like your having too much fun.  DOC Holliday

Tulsa must have had the same weather we had at Topeka. Great pics Elwyn. It is really nice to get days like this after what we have been getting all year. Hope to see everybody at Tula's contest.

Doc did a great job Flying the Spitire. He had a real rich engine run and made the plane look good anyway. Beautiful plane in person.
