GRASS CIRCLES, NATS.
« on: June 26, 2011, 06:59:57 PM »
D>K  Sunday; Just arrived home from AMA. The 600 X 600 grass area is ten times better than ever before, the grounds crew have done a great job on rolling, cross cutting, thatching, and raking the grass. My understanding is they will cut it again this coming week. It has been suggested we take up a donation to show our appreciation (if you are not impressed, don't) see me Mon. or Tues. With the "Nats", the WC, and the 75th anniversary celebration to cover (6 weeks of thankless work) they are making a special effort to keep us C/L er's happy.

There is a coned off drive to the left to the grass area, before you make the curve. After scale is over on Sunday, you will be able to use the L-pad. REMEMBER, WHEN SCALE IS OVER.

Have a safe trip.
Blessings
Allen

The AMA crew has always tried their best to give us a great site.  I got there one year when the maintenance man was trying to get everyone out of the mud.  I have also helped to get grass circles ready.  I would have been in seventh heaven if my circle had been as good as the grass pad.  I have trouble flying off of pavement.   H^^

Now you guys that are not satisfied, have fun anyway. jeh

Thank you Allen!

 And thank you AMA!

The grass has been decent in the past, but had gone downhill. Good to hear it's back. It's far nicer to fly down there than the L-pad, and if it got good enough I would be tempted to suggest we have the whole contest down there.

Trouble flying off of pavement? Think about it, in the summer, the pavement simmering in the sun, All that super heated air boiling off of the surface........what's there not to like?
