  Does anyone have any plans that can be copied for the first three (3) of the Mustunt models from Mr Rabe, I sure would like some copies.  Thanks, Gil

I have the articles from the magazines. They include page size reduced plans of the I, II and III.

I haven't scanned them into .pdf at the moment, but can within a week or so. A local print shop with enlarging ability can probably produce them at about 400% from the articles. They may have been in Air Trails or Air trails Models for Young Men or one of the other successors to the original Air trails, or possibly in a series in Model Airplane News.

Enlargement factor may vary. (Flying Models mostly did their mag plan pages at 25% (1/4) of full size.) Might take some measurement calculations to get the actual number to enlarge to. The articles are interesting reading.

Some of the mag plans included further details NOT printed in the mag articles; hope these are not that way.

If successful, I could attach the .pdf's to any one else interested, at no charge. That's not a commercial, profiting use...

When I get them scanned into .pdf I'll let you know. If file size is a problem, I'll at least be able to tell you how big the files are.

-¹ - This was Al's first published  Mustang. I believe the version he flew in the FAI CL WC at RAF Woodvale, UK, in 1978, was a development from it. (Had the pleasure of attending as a spectator, w/family, on leave from US Army duty in Germany.)(Rained a LOT!)

-*- AAM was American Aircraft Modeler, one of the successors to Air Trails. AAM may not have included "scale bars" on the mag plan pages.

-**- When I  scan mag articles, I don't crop out  the irrelevant text/ads/whatever on the rest of the page. Al Rabe and Ted Fancher wrote at great length more often than not. It's kinda poignant to see the ads for long-gone suppliers, and the prices back then... AND to see how the editors chopped up the article texts to put the maximum number of ad-carrying pages before the readers. .

Deliberate? Oh no, perish the thought.... (Some "jump" pages had as few as 5 or 6 lines of article text...)

It's hard enough to 'composite' the layout of a mag like these; adding the numerous 'jumps' may or may not have made it easier, but it sure increased ad exposure.

What really tears (either pronunciation) me up is the prices, even as ""recently"" as the late 1970's.
