Title: Gordan's finished classic Bellanca
Post by: John Miller on November 08, 2011, 12:33:27 PM
Last night was club meeting. Gordan brought his finished Bellanca, and I happened to have my camera in my pocket. I hope you enjoy the photos.

Wow is right! Really nicely done...with cockpit detail too. Very unique and imaginative choice of aircraft to model. Thumbs Up! What's the motor?

What an artist Gordan is!  He would blow most contests away in scale if he ever went that route!

I have liked that airplane for years and thought about building many times.
That is an outstanding example of one.

Good work Gordan!

It evan has a model magazine siting on the seat. I think that is his twin on the cover. Gordan  how did you do that?

Ed,
A friend of mine Ray Firkins reduce it and sent it to me. Don`t know how he did it. I know he did it on his putor.

Absolutely stunning Gordan!

I know that I usually overlook general aviation types when it comes to stunt. That is just brilliant!

Cheers,

Mike

A short kit of this plane was offered awhile back . Anyone know of the size difference between the two?

Gordon,

This is a James Young`s designed in from 1969. There is no difference  in size. The short kit is the same. Hope this helps.

Very nice Gordan.

It would be a shame to get oil on it, wouldn't it, Crist?

Wonderful, Gordan, just wonderful. It should be displayed in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, in a high end art gallery,  auctioned off at Sotheby's. The cockpit is fabulous, the colors, my favorite. Good on you, you done real good. I can't wait to see it in person. My best to you.

Gordy, That is one nice plane!  Hope you bring it to VSC.  It seems that those
electron powered toys are used pretty much by those that can't handle the
big iron anymore.   I just watched an electric plane up at Golden State get put
on the trailer by a GASP! ice model. I can hardly believe that the nitro burner
could actually get the job done as all I hear is how great the electronic
toys worked.  Heck one of the guys even crashed his electronic whiz-bang
toy when, and this is too funny, the electric power just quit! Amazing as I have
been told on many occasions that they were stupid proof.  I'm just sayin'...RJ

Watch it Derek, as you know how touchy some people can get.   It is amazing how many people can dish it out, but then can't take it.   VD~

Thats right Bob. Not only that, the "big iron" whipped serious booty at the F3A RC Pattern World Championships with a 1st and 2nd place finish, up against the absolute best electron setups flying today.

EVERYONE world wide was saying that I.C. in RC pattern was DEAD. Tell that to guys who handed them their 2 meter a#$e#$ in a sling.

Your right Clint, I apologize. Gordon's plane is really nice looking. Has a strong 50's vibe to it.

I'm lucky enough to have a short kit of the Bellanca. However, since it will be at least 10 years before everyone forgets how spectacular Gordan's is, I think I'll wait awile for this one.

Hey Clint, you are not that far off from doing the plane justice.  I remember your "Playboy" I think it was at VSC.   You guys that have the patience and ability to finish models just makes me jealous. LL~ LL~

2nd that! It's rare to see a GA aircraft modeled. Very impressive, love the color choices.
