MVVS Diesel
« on: May 30, 2013, 05:35:14 AM »
I have 2 MVVS Glo 2.5cc motors and thought I had purchased 2 diesel heads but they are missing the intermediate piston. Has anyone got a picture or drawing that I could machine some up from.

The MVVS Glow and diesel have different liners IIRC. Fortunately the diesel push/pull head from a Parra 15D is almost a straight fit.

They're only about Euro 15 from Alberto Parra.

I have a pic of a modified motor somewhere I'll see if I can find it.

Otherwise here's some ideas for home made diesel heads.

Thanks for that tip. More reasons to send Senor Parra some money.

What is the required adjustment?

There are a few MVVS 2.5 Parra Diesels around. The normal ABC p/l is usually replaced by a generic Rossi mk2 set with diesel fits.

Either Iron/Steel or ABC work well. The Parra head has to be individually fitted and a rod that suits the p/l may be necessary. The one in the pics has a standard MVVS rod IIRC.

The top of the liner may need a slight skim so the push/pull head goes deep enough.

The bottom of the MVVS cylinder fin assembly may need a skim as well to get a suitable exhaust duration.

A Fora 15 Diesel "Pioneer" is more powerful and cheaper!

Thanks Ray. I might just leave mine as a glow, then. I only got it as a nostalgia piece anyway. A Fora or Parra is always going to be a better option in the air as you say.
