Golden State Stunt Championships Practice Session
« on: September 29, 2011, 04:49:30 PM »
Hi All;

We're getting close, only about a month to go. The PC Flyers are again looking forward to hosting the GSSC practice at our home field! The field is on the grounds of People's Church, located on Cedar Ave., one block North of Herndon Ave. (that's about a mile or less East of the 41 Freeway). We fly on the field ajacent to Cedar Ave. We will have 3 circles set up on Friday October 28 from about 9am till about 4pm. We will of course, be serving our now famous free Hot Dog lunch from around 11am till . . . .

If anyone needs to practice on Thursday, let me know, we can arrange that too.

I may not have read this right but are you planning a practice session on Friday? Last word I got is that the contest will be Fri and Sat, banquet Sat night. I'll take you up on the practice offer Thursday though.  8)

That's right Pete!!! The show will go on as scheduled Saturday and Sunday. I'm not sure Jerry Silver has any hair left, I know he's been pulling it like crazy, but he just got confirmation that Clovis North approved his application to use the field Sat & Sun.

No one is sure why Buchanan suddenly pulled the rug out from under him after it was "approved", but since I live in the area I'm going to try to find out what the problem is/was and see if we can move back there in 2012.

PS: Still want a Thursday practice???

I've been talking with the grounds keepers at the church, and they have promised to have the grass cut as short as they can a day or two before our practice session for the GSSC. I'll keep working with them to make sure they remember. For whatever reason the grass seems to be extra thick this year; I've nosed over on many landings lately. But don't worry, that won't affect the hot dogs.
