Title: Gold Brick
Post by: john e. holliday on September 25, 2010, 09:30:17 AM
Got a call last night fro Wynn Paul.  The old grey matter wasn't up to par and I owe him an apology for not recognizing the name.  The call was about the Wild Bill Netzband designed "Gold Brick".  He had questions about if it was ever published or not.  Also where did I get plans.  I related The plans came from Tom Dixon.  There were some E-mails and calls to Wild Bill.  Yes it did get me an award at VSC one year.  I think the last year Bill and his lovely wife were at VSC.  He came up to me after the banquet and said well done.  He also said, "I have flown this design at VSC and never got an awrd for it".  We had a laugh.  Anyway if someone has info on the "Gold Brick" contact Wyann Paul.  He is still trying to finish the book he is doing.  Thanks,  DOC Holliday

Doc,

If memory serves, Wild Bill flew his Gold Brick at VSC 12 and actually did win an award, the Pachyderm award. He left the glo starter attached for the entire flight. Landed with it still attached.

I am getting old and don't remember that.  All I know is what he told me. H^^

I remember seeing a picture of Bill's " ' Brick" flying at pattern altitude with the glo driver still attached. Was it SN? I think so. Bill gifted me with a copy of the digital files he drew, for his design some years ago.
