   Gotta pal comin' by today , and we are gonna install wing and stab in his PT 19 arf, what is the best way to remove coverin' on the part's that need the coverin' removed,  sure do want goooood glue joint's. Don't want to cut the balsa.

I use an iSlice (harbor Freight?) or a soldering iron....

I use a "pencil" soldering iron - nice clean lines & don't have to worry about slicing to deep.

Yup! That is the best way to cut away monokote when you need to expose the wood.

I was looking at soldering irons at Lowe's the other day and they had one that would use a #11 blade as a tip.  It had other specialized tips as well.
