Merlin and MECOA

Also, Kitting it Together , Larry has the Galbreath stuff! As a last resort, cox plugs will fit and work, tee dee style may work best. I believe the clamp supplied with the wasp only can use the older style norvel cold plug which is smaller in diameter than the newer norvel plugs.

For some reason "Kitting it together" always makes me think "re-kitting". That should not be interpreted as the remotest slam against Kitting It Together -- rather, just an insight into my undoubtedly twisted brain.
Bob: I hope you find what you need.

Hobby people still carries the stock plugs. You can drill out the head clamp to take Merlin plugs. I did that with some of my Glo Bee head clamps. Ken

Another place to look at the MECOA site is: (This shows adapters)
http://www.mecoa.com/acc/adaptors/index.htm
The Doug Galbreath site that has adapters and Nelson plugs for the Norvel and AP Wasp motors:
http://www.the-printer.net/DookCat.html#Nelson%20engine
Norvel engines are available. Unfortunately, they do not list glow plugs separately. They do have an adapter for "standard" plugs. Any glow plugs that fit the Cox engines will work on Norvel and the AP Wasp engines. The Norvel site is at:
http://www.nvengines.com/
And if all else fails, why not ask me.

And Norvel sells the plug inserts. I think these fit the AP Wasp

Conrad Electronics do the Wasp plugs, but they are located in Germany. By far the best bet are the Nelson plugs with the Galbreath heads. They give increased performance, due I think to increased compression ratio (May even need some extra head shims if this gets too high). The Nelson plugs last forever. I have not managed to burn one out yet! The Merlin head and plugs work well too. They had a deal of three plugs and a head for the price of three plugs (more or less). Same hint about more head shims if compression gets too high.

Andrew.
