Title: Glow Plug Starter
Post by: scott matthews on August 17, 2013, 02:57:52 PM
I have a Sonic Tronic charger that the metal shaft is coming loose from the handle. I believe this is causing a short, I noticed this when I went to charge it the light on the wall unit flickers off and on when I wiggling the metal shaft. I would like to know if it is possible to cut off the rubber coating on the handle to repair this, and what do you use to replace the orange rubber on the handle with?

The rubber cover is just a pair of caps that meet in the middle.  Peel off the yellow tape in the middle, and slide the cap off.  Then you can resolder the shaft to the battery.

Thanks Andrew , popped of the two covers this morning and soldered the tip back on. Working as good as new if not better.
