When I was a kid back in the 70's I used to go to the library to read the new MAN when it came in, there was a plans article on this plane and in one pic one of them has ping pong balls in the wing, that always stuck with me but over time I forgot the name of the plane, about a month ago I asked here and low and behold someone remembered the name, a quick check on Barry Baxter's plans site and here she is, one of the first planes I ever read about and now I get to fly it.

You still didn't say why ping pong balls.  Looking at pics of the article, they are not ping pong balls, but are smiley face stick on's.  My opinion.   I have the plans in the shop and it son't show ping pong balls.

In the article (sent  by Barry as well) under one of the pics the author ask's  "why the ping pongs" The only thing I can think of is tip weight, but who knows what goes through the mind of a combat flyer.

Nah.  Mike Tallman could be a whimsical guy.  The ping pong balls did exactly what he intended them to do ... make people wonder what they were there for!
