When I was a kid back in the 70's I used to go to the library to read the new MAN when it came in, there was a plans article on this plane and in one pic one of them has ping pong balls in the wing, that always stuck with me but over time I forgot the name of the plane, about a month ago I asked here and low and behold someone remembered the name, a quick check on Barry Baxter's plans site and here she is, one of the first planes I ever read about and now I get to fly it.  y1 #^ ~>

You still didn't say why ping pong balls.  Looking at pics of the article, they are not ping pong balls, but are smiley face stick on's.  My opinion.   I have the plans in the shop and it son't show ping pong balls.    H^^

In the article (sent  by Barry as well) under one of the pics the author ask's  "why the ping pongs" The only thing I can think of is tip weight, but who knows what goes through the mind of a combat flyer.  LL~

Nah.  Mike Tallman could be a whimsical guy.  The ping pong balls did exactly what he intended them to do ... make people wonder what they were there for!
