Gieseke Nobler Conversion

Im going to beat a dead horse here.

 Has anyone took a Brodak Nobler kit and made a Gieseke Nobler from it? I have a Nobler kit but it is missing the plans. Wondering If I can find a set of plans for the Gieseke Nobler and use it for the brodak nobler but make it a Gieseke.

 Good source of drawings would help as well.

There are a couple on Outerzone, but neither is quite the same as the Top Flite kit.
Rudder seems taller and and the "step" on the bottom of the fuse is not there:

One of them is said to be by Gieseke and explains how the Nobler was changed.

On my "to do " list is to scan the TF plans and do a CAD drawing.

Tom Dixon sells plans for the Gieske Nober.    This is the description on his webpage: "GIESEKE NOBLER - Classic legal version (CA 1968), expertly drawn by Holland's Paul Tupker. 52" span. .35 to .40 power. $10.00."

The ones on Outerzone are the Paul Tupker ones, but $10 for a full sized print is not bad.

I just paid the local copy shop $10 for a 44" x 36" Flite Streak plan.

The only way I knew to beat it was to work someplace where you can do it yourself for free. 
At GM, even that fell off the table when they brought in a 3rd party vendor to do office services.

Hi James, I’ve built the Green Box version and the Gieseke version. They were both great!!!
I read a story that Mr. Gieseke drew the ribs from the Green Box version, laying the ribs down and drawing around them. This made the ribs / airfoil a bit thicker.
I have both kits and it does appear to me that the Gieseke version has a slightly thicker and a bit more blunt airfoil.
Hopefully the Moon Brothers will chime in here, they know the workings of MR. Gieseke more than anybody.

Oh for sure I would think so. Bout a set of plans of the G Nobler from Steve Moon

 Now modifying the Brodak Nobler into a Gieseke Nobler will be a challenge for my not so experienced self. But it is just way more sexier than a stock Nobler.

Well.. even according to Bob I improved his original design.
Albeit the motor wasnt avaliable when he designed it.
He did say " thats how I imagined it to fly "

It's been a while since I have really compared the plans of the Brodak kit and the Top Flite green box version, but I believe that when Brodak came out with theirs, the construction was altered to be more like George's original airplane. The green box Nobler, as we all know by now, was altered a bit so it would fit in a standard box. I think george said he changed some things that he thought would improve the design without really testing them. I think the Brodak kit may have more offset in the inboard wing. I'm a little foggy on this, but I believe this is true. I have s et of plans that I got from George at VSC one year that he said were taken from original models and represented the original airplane more that the Top Flite kit. I'm assuming that these are the plans that were used for the Brodak kit??? When you get your plans from Steve Moon, look at those closely and compare to the Brodak plans for differences. I think the Brodak kit has more block balsa for the top and bottom blocks and such, and none of the formed balsa shells like the Gieseke kit did. Let us know what you find out.

That I will definitely do. I need to print out a set of the brodak plans as the kit I bought 2nd hand didnt come with any.

 This will be a project Ill surely take my time on after I get a couple more full body planes built.
