The Art of ELECRTRO FORMING
« on: January 09, 2011, 10:33:59 AM »
Yesterday after visiting Arnold's Furniture in Bremerton Wa. I couldn't help but notice so many new wall hangings etc...are now showing items that are coated with various metals such as copper etc.
I soon found that many many items...such as pine cones...sticks n' branches...even delicate items such as leaves and feathers are now being plated with metals.

Hummm?
I can just imagine just how interesting many CLPA items could be preserved in copper for decades. For example say: Maybe even one of PAUL WALKERS  WORLD CUP WILLY WINNING STUNT MODELS COULD BE PRESERVED FOR DECADES TO COME USING THIS NEW FOUND ART OF ELECTROFORMING ITEMS? :!
Maybe even Bob Hunt's new twin electric could be laced with such exotickaaaa'? H^^  LL~

If my building time would keep up with my sense of humor I'd build a Ringmaster and do all the trim in gold leaf.

So I could call it the "Bling Master", of course.

Maybe do the decal with Mr. T in the middle instead of that boring old white guy.

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

My parents had a pair of my baby shoes "bronzed" back in the day.  Is that the same?

Anyone remember Walt Prey? The master of gold leaf lettering and trim on planes (and about the finest painter I've ever seen).

Hey Doc!
Here are some photos that I found in the  SH'S SEARCH engine.
From these shots, Randy....Truly Walter rules the airbrush. BW@

(bye the way...check out that IWATA airbrush that "Heff" is beholdin'  LL~
NEVA NUFF IWATA'S HP-C's for the finest detailing. These two airbrushes of mine served me purty well over the many years of during my life sentence behind the barb'd chain link fences of the Boeing Company.
(I escaped with only two of them...along with my beloved old DeViliss #502 detail touch up gun.) Lots of new and expensive guns, but always try to remember, Although a quality spray gun is a blessing, but its truly the skill and experience of its masta'a touch that truly makes the difference.

Years back, when I was actively building, I had all my planes lead plated.  I also used lead based dope, lead based glue and lead based wood, whenever I could find it.  At least, it seemed that way.  My pull tests were measured in kilo-tons.  The baby scale was never the same... HB~>
