Howdy John. Immediately following the first flake of snow, my wife and daughters had calls from the school that it was cancelled tomorrow. So far about 3-4 inches in Beebe, AR. My shop is outside and not too fun to work in in these conditions.

Hi Ty - Here in B'ham we were just south of most snow, but got ice, snow, freezing rain, & just about anything else that could fall from the sky. Same thing on Christmas day. What is interesting is the long range forecast for our area, that I am seeing on Accuweather. The guy who blogs about the Southeast is predicting a major cold wave about next Mon. or Tues, even colder than now, with the possibility of more snow. I cant remember this much persistently cold weather, although it may have happened. Currently, I cant get out of my driveway, & most of the streets are closed, anyway. Timr to get busy in the shop & finish some of those projects. Regards, Ed

Lets swap situations for a week or two! It took me about an hour to dig out my white toyota[after I found it]only to find out that my appointment at the VA was canceled. 70s is good! ;D

Ty, the picture looks like my neighborhood here in Shawnee KANSAS. No school yesterday and today. It is hurting my play money.
Walter, send your grandson to me and I will let him play in the snow all he wants. Of course he will have a scoop in his hands.
But, think now people of our friends in Queensland Australia. A deluge of Tsunami proportions going thru the town. People being killed and others washed away. I now keep thinking of how lucky I am to live on high ground. From the pictures it looks like a lot of flat land and not enough resivours to hold water. Lets keep them in our prayers.

I just saw that, Doc....I almost went AWOL in Brisbane when as a young man, I had R&R in Sydney....didn't much cotton to Sydney and caught a ride to Brisbane where I met a young lady who lived on a horse ranch sorta outback. Went and stayed all my R&R with them, and almost gave in to the entreatments of her family to stay. I still count them as "family" and have a certain attachment to Australia. You bet I'll pray for them! H^^
