Generosity of people on this forum.
« on: March 14, 2012, 12:28:02 PM »
Hello Everyone,
I just want to thank people who have been so generous to me and my small grandson, who is learning the art of aero modeling. I wanted information on Diesel conversions for Cox Reedys. Dennis Saydak replied saying I could have a brand new Davies conversion for the price of the postage! After some hassle with Canadian postage rates, the head is on its way to UK.
Marvin Denny also helped greatly with his design of Cox powered control line trainers, he sent me a plan and instruction manual plus all of the hardware needed to build said trainer,
These folk are so generous to their fellow modelers that I think their actions should be more widely known and indeed publicly thanked by both myself and small grandson. Flying model planes seem to breed a special sort of people. Thanks to everyone that has lent a helping hand.

Many Thanks,

Andrew.

P.S.  Hope I have not left anyone else out!

Yup.  It wreaks havoc on my miserly instincts.  Why, after Russel Shaefer gave me an 049 backplate (so that I could hand it to a friend, no less!) some guy on another forum was asking about how to get a Babe Bee for a project for his kid, and I just mailed him one.  This leaves me with barely enough Cox 049 engines (nearly all of which were given to me) to build a matched pair of B-36's!!  Imagine!!

The problem with electric is that once you get the smoke generator and sound system installed, the plane is too heavy.

Yes it makes you feel better when you do help other people, done it a few times myself
If you are short of a Cox 0.049 (got the decimal point right this time!), just give me a shout, I would love to see a brace of Cox powered B36, myself. I could even throw in a few 3 blade pusher props too.

Regards,

Andrew.

If I do a B-36 it's gonna be electric!

There are many, many fine people involved in this hobby/sport!  After receiving goods and especially help from others, I just feel the right thing to do is pay it forward........  I have more stuff than either I, or my son, could ever use! LL~ LL~ LL~

Now, you see, that's exactly the sort of twisted-up thinking that makes me give away stuff that I have large piles of.  Wouldn't the world be a much better place if, after a load of it falls on my head and I die from a combination of concussion and hypothermia, my relatives pile it all on top of me in my coffin?
