Title: Gear tote's
Post by: Bootlegger on October 18, 2016, 01:07:16 PM: Guy's where are you getting your tote for your model gear. I have a BIG one on wheels that is too big, so I am looking for one like Tower Hobbies used to carry, or something similar, and help will be gratefully appreciated..

Post by: Chris Belcher on October 18, 2016, 03:19:56 PM: Home Depot, and I found one that holds a gallon of fuel (rectangular a la Powermaster) perfectly in one end and then I put accesories in plastic containers that go inside. Props and tools all fit in their little cubbies.. Has all kinds of crannies and pouches and zippered goodies. I could not find the model number on line but they have them in the store. I will look tonite and see if mine has a model number. Mine doesn't have wheels but I strap it to a little dollie that I found at Wal-mart.

Hi Gil,

Personally I use an old (1946-8) metal tool box my Dad had. Now days I'd go to a fishing tackle shop and look there. They have all kinds of neat stuff that can be used for our hobby.

drawer at the bottom and three smaller ones above. It has been perfect for our needs. :d

It's what I've used for years, not too big, not too small, and also has a small drawer. Assemble it yourself, paint it how you wish, add their power panel and battery and you're good to go...

This is pretty much what I use. Mine is a Hobbico Ultra Tote. Got it at the hobby shop. Identical except for the plate in the top section with the holes cut in it for screwdrivers/glow driver/etc, and the Ultra Tote had adjustable arms for holding your plane which I immediately left off.

Post by: rich gorrill on October 21, 2016, 02:29:36 PM: I built my own wooden box for about 10 bucks worth of wood, about the size of a regular tote. I use a small plastic tool box for hand tools. Neither one weighs too much and fit nicely in your trunk or back seat.
