FYI===================================================

MUNCIE — The Academy of Model Aeronautics, the nation's Muncie-based collective voice for model aviation, announced today the resignation of its executive director, Jim Cherry.

"We are very appreciative of all the good things that Jim has done for the Academy for nearly four years of his leadership," said Dave Mathewson, president of AMA. "We wish him well in his future endeavors."

Joyce Hager, assistant director and a 40-year member of the AMA professional staff, will assume duties as interim executive director. The executive council, comprising vice presidents from AMA regional districts, has started the search for a new executive director.

The Academy of Model Aeronautics, founded in 1936, represents 142,000 members in 2,400 clubs. It sanctions more than 2,000 competitions. The AMA has been headquartered in Muncie since 1992 on the 1,100-acre International Aeromodeling Center and the National Model Aviation Museum along East Memorial Drive.

Wish him  well in what ever he will be doing.   Didn't know who he was when I first met him and thought he was part of maintenance staff as we went to the shed to get a shovel.   H^^

I'm glad to see something about the AMA in the Muncie newspaper.  Is this the first time?
