This may be the plane d'jour. I figured that I was on a roll and might as well convert the full bodied FW190 into a profile stunter. This one really appeals to me in it's simplistic elegance. As a profile with the interior foam and sheeted with 1/16" skins the overall weight will be light. I suspect that a person can build this one under 40 ounces if film is used on the wings and tail. The stab and elevator have a rib structure which is covered with the film or silkspan. All this is to keep the weight in the tail down to a minimum. The airfoil is the same as the excellent Brodak P40B profile.

you are creating so many new cool designs, I am afraid you will be so busy cutting short kits, you wont have time to build your own stuff, maybe you should hide these plans until you get yoru stuff built, then bring them out all at once lol

Now thinking its time to bring out a profile version of my 109,, ;)

I really love the FW-190 series. It's NOT a radial engine, OBTW. H^^ Steve
PS: Ol' Dad was on a B-17 mission over Germany (Schweinfurt, I think) as an observer. The waist gunner got wounded, so OD jumped on the waist gun, and splashed a FW-190. I believe that would have entitled him to put a Swastika victory marker on his B-25, alongside a bunch of ship symbols, bomb symbols, etc. Yes/No?

Thanks, all. Steve, I would think that your dad would certainly be entitled credit for the 190. Also, steve, the foam is what I always called "beaded Styrofoam", but I may be wrong about the name. It is the very low density (sub 2#) white beaded stuff foam wings are cut from. Home Depot or Lowes carry it is 1/2" splendor with a film covering which needs to be pealed off. This technique would be very good for certain Gee Bee Z's if you get my drift. Perhaps I should paste up the Z on the internet and see if someone gets excited.
Randy, for ribs and plans click on my name and the contact E-mail address is there. Ribs are $28, Plans are $15, S&H (Priority) is $8 for a total of $51. Be sure to put in a good supply of contest balsa so you see 40 ounces and you will not have any competition which can fly any better.
