I got this as a short kit off the UK Ebay. It was used as a pattern to build this my version of the British Peacemaker. Yes that is a diesel power plant. But, Fox .15 schnuerle fits the same holes.

Very nice, there must have been many thousands built here in the UK, since it was published in the AeroModeller back in '59?

Would you beleive it came from the one and only Dave Platt of RC Scale fame, also free flight. Traded a Rossi diesel for it.

Dave was also a noted C/L flyer here in the UK, in the '50's and '60's. A member of the British team at the world champs a few times too. Does he still have a east end cockney London accent?

. My dad said he flew in a few team race events against him in the '50's.

Very nice Doc; Do you have an ignition plane for VSC? I don't think we are going to get to fly before we go as the weather is not wanting to cooperate. I will be completely unprepared as usual.

Yes he did design the Talon, I have an original kit up in my den/office, with typical Keil Kraft die crushed ribs and bits!

I'm sure he designed some others that I can think of right now.

Annette were you Dick VanDyke in another life?

A gentleman in Merry Ole England has all my ignition stuff now. So I will not fly ignition.

Cary Grant also used an equally silly cockernee accent in a few of his films.....

My mum was a cockney - but dad was from nawf london.

According to some German teachers of English "I haf no accent" - but my sister is pure nawf london....

PS For some reason I always have it stuck in my head that he designed the Skua as well - but that was another Dave (Christopher) who I think was from "downunder"...

Yesterday, PJ Rowland posted a pic of his dad with a Frog Aerobat,

and Wynn Robins sent me a plan scan. The plan says "Designed by C.T.B and R.L.A". Who are (were?) they?

The Aerobat plan says it is for a Frog "249" diesel. 2.5cc I think.
38" span, 24.5" long about 20 oz, 280 sq inches.

The kit looks like it should be good and john e. holliday says he was pleased with a different kit from the same place.

I'll attach a smaller version of the plan scan.

There is a complete kit available on E-bay, the model was produced by FROG in the late '50's I think. I built quite a few FROG kits in the '60's
they were good value for money then. Google, the House of Frog and you'll get a site dedicated to the models that FROG produced. Another good FROG kit was the ATTACKER a 50" T'bird shaped wing stunt model from 1960. The kits included, tank, spinner, wheels and all accessories! I still have the wheels from my ATTACKER, alloy spoked hub from the US! can't remember the name. George Fletcher was one of their designers.

He did, I watched him fly it at Old Warden aerodrome a few years back, when he visited England. Actually I think it was called Satin Doll? after a Duke Ellington tune
