A lot of people here in the Northwest, used the Excitation fuse for the basis and stayed with the Imitation moments. There were various attempts at this and most flew and looked very good. Isn't the Thunder Gazer sort of like this ?

Only by convergent evolution. The fixed part of the wing is the same as a Werewage Thunderbolt, with smaller flaps. The fuselage is similar to the Star Gazer. The result is pretty close to an Imitation with a full fuse.

David has two other airplanes that are literally full-fuse Imitations - a black/white "Central Gravity" and another red/black airplane that I cannot recall the name of, but they were not published. I had one in the mid-Late 80s, and my backup airplane is a modified version.  There were many others built in the CA/PNW area over the years, but I don't recall any having beein published.

Nothing ever published AFAIK but locally Bob Duncan has built a few, including one twin. May want to talk to him if you are serious about the build. I'm also thinking that the Trivial Pursuit/Final Edition fuselage and tail could be used although the wing is thicker on that design. It is kitted by RSM so plans are available. 8)

Hey Gordon - Larry Wong in the Oakland area has built at least two full-fuse Imitations, both PA powered (40 ultralight and maybe 61 or 65) that are great flyers and very attractive models. These are currently flying, not in an attic somewhere, so Larry probably has plans for them. His are fully scratch-built so I would think there are plans. Fuselage is his own design. I think Larry is on the board here, or if not I can put you in touch with him. I am certain he would be happy to help you out.

I saw a beautifully built full fuselage imitation at GSSC last weekend by Paul Pomposo.  Maybe contact him see what he used.  I would be interested also.

I think that is an Imitation with a Temptation fuselage, as noted above. Paul is really a master builder and Ted's biggest fan. The airplane you refer to is indeed a beauty.

I have a full bodied Imitation right now that I got from a local flyer that is no longer with us. It is complete , fuse is in primer, wing cleared, ready for paint, with no landing gear or engine , tank, etc. it weighs 27oz. It is set up for a PA 40 ultralight on a pipe. I intend to finish it (paint it) in a couple of months . If it flys as good as I think it will I would like to duplicate it. The fuselage is a dead ringer for the profile version except not profile. Looks kool. I have a Hunt lost foam wing jig for doing a geodetic version of the imitation wing. I will try to contact both Paul and Larry about looking at the plans they have , I really don't want to try to draw my own by taking measurements from this one and using reverse engineering to get there unless I have to.
