I buy the medium sized pink stuff from either the local LHS (when I can get out there) or Tower Hobbies.

Ace Hobbies carries the Medium for $20/50' roll. I bought a roll of the Large from Central Hobbies last year.

Prather Products are becoming increasingly difficult to locate on a regular, dependable basis.

Prather is out of business.  Good luck finding their medium fuel tubing.  It is a much sought after item.

Brodak carries a pink fuel line that looks like the Prather brand.
I have not had any problems using the Brodak pink fuel line.

For many years, I have been using the pink tubing that Brodak sells - It's the best I've ever used.

Last time I was there, he had huge rolls of it in stock.

I wonder if anybody has actually called Brodak to see if he actually has any left?

Has anybody determined for sure, that the pink stuff Brodak is selling the same as the Prather fuel line?

Maybe this is a dumb questions but why is the colored tubing so good?  What is wrong with plain old Aerotrend Silicon tubing?

The pink stuff is tougher and costs more to make.  Almost any of the other types will sooner or later develop stress cracks, often where it goes over a fuel nipple, but sometimes any old place along the length.

The people at Prather never as far as I know told John Brodak where ther tubing came from. John got a source but no one knows whether they are the same. I have been selling and using Johns pink tubing for a long time with no issues. You should change any silicone product with some regularity as it also hardens eventually with use.

Back in the 60's my dad bought a pinkish tubing that came from a medical supplier he use (he was a dentist). Never had any problems with it, in fact still have a few pieces of it sitting around that remain flexible and could still be used. By chance is (was) Prather tubing the same type of product?

Has anyone else used tubing from a medical supply? Since getting back into C/L I've been using the blue silicone stuff; seems good enough, but I have none over 2 years old at this point

Thanks,

Brian

Myself I have used all the different colors of silicone tubing that is out there.  Most from local Hobby Haven.  It seems that if you don't check the tubing regularly it will develop a leak some where.   I can still remember the early days of it whenthe engine started acting up, you change the tubing.
