Title: Fuel Tanks
Post by: john e. holliday on July 26, 2009, 08:06:03 AM
After my post about oils, it hit me about the super fuel tank that is supposed to cure all problems.  As I can't get a pattern in on 4 ounces of fuel so I had to get the 6 ounce tank.  Set it up like the person said to set it up.  The engine a Fox 40 was running great until I pulled up for the first loop.  Dead engine.  So I set it richer thinking that was the problem and it wasn't.  Tried leaner which was not a fix either.  So I tried plugs different ranges and no help.  Got out a new jug of fuel and it was a no go.

I got disgusted and went home and changed engines from the Fox to OS 40FP.  Same problems.  I now have a metal tank on the plane and it is working great with original fuel and plug.  I have checked the super tank for leaks and can find none.  So it sits on the shelf waiting for me to play with it again.  Yes it is a round plastic tank that was mounted with rubber bands like I normally mount tanks.  DOC Holliday
