Our local group of 5 have been looking forward for a whole year for his coming weekend.  Now, however it looks like we may get blown out with forecast ed winds way to heavy for flying. !!!%%^%$m^TU*%&*&(&)*)$&)_!  Last year we simply buried all others in the NW with our flights, and had the potential of doing it again this year. Ah well, "Pride goith before..."

I'll take the Ringmaster John gave me to the field on Saturday. I'll see if any of the other guys are flying ant Ringmasters.

Help with the numbers.

Here in New Zealand we are about 18 hours ahead so if I fly my old Super Ringmaster with its Enya 45 on Saturday morning, I may be the first to kick off the event or get it  flying!
Wonder if there are any other Ringmaster flyers in NZ ready to go?   ???

We have a few lined up in Korea to fly on Saturday but will not be ahead of Gerald in NZ.  Hoping to get back in Michigan to fly with a couple of groups on Sunday.

I thought I posted an update last night but it does not appear to have made it....  In any case, the Korea mission is over.  25 flights between 2 pilots, a Ringmaster and Jr. Ringmaster.  Currently waiting on my flight back to the US to get Sunday's flights in.

We have the F2A World Cup events going on here at Buder Park, and got blown/rained out for flying Ringmasters also. Tomorrow is supposed to be MUCH better weather wise and will try to make up for lost time. I've got three loaded up in the van including a new Brodak ARF with OS.25FP, and interchangeable mounts so I can mount a Fox .35 and Veco .19 also. I will also have one I bought from Ken Nash with a LA.35 and an honest to gosh kit built, 60's vintage version with the hard rubber wheels they came with at one time and a Fox.35 in the nose. I hope to get flights on all three and offer flights to those in attendance.

Well the old DOC thought it was going to be a rain out and Melvin called and said with their field shut down he was not going to fly.  Anyway a little after noon the sun popped out but the trees were saying its windy.   Planes were already loaded and I headed to Frisbee Park of Shawnee where our circle is.    First Ringmaster with Brodak 25 did not like out side maneuvers  no matter where I set the tank.  Third flight wiped out needle when it quit inverted and no altitude.   So out comes the RSM Ringmaster with Fox 35 Stunt.   Not paying attention I wiped out that needle on the out side loop of horizontal 8 on third flight.   Last Ringmaster also Brodak 25 powered is hooked up.  Has small tank of 1 3/4 ounces so didn't do much with it.  Three flights and had to mix new fuel.   Even though I was getting tired I flew one more flight on new fuel to see if I got it right.   Hope to do more tomorrow as I didn't fly the Super Ringmaster.   Even had an older couple stop and watch me fly one flight and just may have perked the guys interest a little.   By the way the wind did not seem bad to me and I had to shed the jacket after first flight also the sun felt great. Did get to fly my Super Ringmaster on Saturday but it was windy and the rain set in early not long after I finished my flight .
My oldest son did take a video but looses the model after a minute or so and the poor Enya 45 motor is very lean after my youngest son twiddled the needle without me knowing beforehand  :o .

At least you got a flight and hopefully reported to John Cralley.  I managed 6 Old Time patterns today(10-8-2027) after a late start.  Such a beautiful day.

Now filed my report to John Cralley.
Hopefully next year the weather will be better and we will get a better turnout here. My old Super Ringmaster was built by me from a Sterling concrete wood kit in the mid 1980's and is a little porky so maybe a new lighter model should be on the books now as my old time stunt Viking is nearly finished.

Well the Super Ringmaster is not Old Time,  Classic yes.   Mine is built using plans from Barry Baxter and is light.  Needs a little more trimming but does a good AMA pattern.  Its on front row of this gaggle of Ringmasters. H^^

Incidental to the Hi Johnson event at the Sepulveda Basin (L.A. area) we had 9 Ringmaster flights, 2 in Advanced, 6 in Old Time, one in Beginner. We didn't make any special effort to rack up the numbers, unfortunately.
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Some nice Ringmasters there, is that a twin electric Ringmaster in John's picture?
Certainly nice to see so many varied ways of decorating them  :) .
In the past in New Zealand it was George Aldrich's Peacemaker in profile form that was most common model to see at the flying field and often with a small .15 size diesel.
Now we are seeing more Flitestreaks, Ringmasters and Noblers now especially as the ARF's take over in our only classic event for pre 1970.
I wonder how many of the Ringmasters flying on the weekend were electric?

We got ten flights between myself, John Garrett and John Moll on the last day of the Canadian World Cup F2A event. I had three out at the field including a new Brodak ARF that is having some teething issues with the engine, but got some flights on it. Had hoped to get more but was a pretty busy day!

Despite a little rain and a very gusty wind that started blowing Saturday just after noon and all day Sunday the Toronto Balsa Beavers put up 165 flights using 13 different models. Full details submitted to John Cralley.  y1

If you are referring to me, I haven't tried getting into electric yet.    Too much fun and also aggravation getting the IC's working correctly.  That twin is powered with LA .25's.

Thanks John
The twin with LA 25's sounds a lot of fun and presume a lot of line tension. I like that twin engine sound but have always found it a challenge to get both to run well together and to the end of their tanks .
Electric twins certainly don't win on sound but seem to have a lot of advantages for contemporary stunt models..
