did not see any thing related to fuel burn times, thought maybe we could post some averages with this type format.
Ounces of fuel
run time
percentage nitro
engine size
I ask this as a newbee to c/l and would like to build a tin tank close to 8 minute run time. ???

With a Fox stunt 35, 10% nitro 25% castor Sig Champion fuel, 4 ounces will get you through a stunt pattern with @ 10 extra laps on a cool, dry, high pressure day. On a really hot, wet, low pressure day, it may take only 3 oz. So weather is a factor if you are going to have to run the engine to get maximum power. Flying a pattern takes around 6 minutes, I suppose.

Jeff,
Go with Jim Thomerson's guide for starters. You may find some more differences due to altitude, as well. Nitro and oil % can also affect time per ounce, and I don't know of a rule of thumb for these that will work for all engines and conditions.
Run-time vs ounces fuel is not usually as critical for stunt fliers. Usually the tanks are a bit too big for the thirstiest conditions you'll face, and you limit run-time by underfilling it. We only need enough to complete a pattern plus several laps, and not so much we run over-time. Pretty loose limits.
Good sized syringes (e.g., 5 fl oz) let you fill the tank, then draw a measured amount back out to get a certain amount in there. Trying to presume it is empty, and fill a measured amount, is not as sure.

As several have stated you have to take a lot of things into consideration. The type /make of engine. The fuel, plug and prop. And of all things the airplane design. Old Time for me and the Dragon is 2 and 3/4 ounces of fuel. The Falcon 35 with OS FP-35 is 3 and 3/4 ounces. The DoodleBug with OS FP-40 is 4 and 1/2 ounces. The Accentor with the RO-Jett BSRE-40 is a little less than 4 ounces. Now the ARF Oriental with 4 ounce tank and Brodak 40 will not get me thru the 4 leaf clover. All above run on 10% nitro. The RO-Jett is being run on pure synthetic oil fuel by Power Master. Now you see what we mean when we say it depends on a lot of things. DOC Holliday

PA .61 1.1 oz per min. PA.75 1.6 oz per min 10% on both.
