A little help from my friends... J Roberts Handle!
« on: November 12, 2015, 05:23:13 PM »
So I just received a J Roberts handle, no bellcrank and no instructions included. Bellcrank is fine cuz I made my own..

I know the throttle cable goes in the middle, but I'm puzzled about the top "lever"... the metal bar above the handle. What is it supposed to do?

Thanks!

Just another way to control the throttle, you can use your free hand on the lever.

Just another way to control the throttle, you can use your free hand on the lever.

Also, some carrier and scale fliers use an extension spring on that lever fastened to the forward part of the handle to pull the lever to idle.

I believe that there are diagrams and descriptions in the Brodak catalog....I just gave my last one away the other day.

Have fun!

Goto the carrier section.  There are some good stuff for setting up lines for throttle control using the Roberts/Brodak handle.   If you have Brodak handle use Brodak bell crank and vice versa.   Of course I am flying with Brodak bell cranks and Roberts handles.  In fact one is set up with the throttle reversed,  pull trigger for low speed.
