Free C/L plans on Dave Fritzke's website
« on: January 17, 2007, 04:44:27 PM »
There are presently 2 free C/L plans on Dave Fritzke's website:
http://my.pclink.com/~dfritzke/

They are "The Gambler" and "The Hi Boy"
I was not sure if anyone here was aware of them or not.

The Gambler is a really classy looking plane that has panache just dripping off of it!
The Hi Boy is a nice looker as well, sized for a .19 engine

Robert
Crop circles are simply open invitations to fly C/L!

I see he has the Super Pacer on there also. I have the old ACE kit. Don't know why I bought it, I don't fly R/C.

Who designed the Gambler?

Thanks,
Jim

That Gambler shown on that web site was designed by Frank McMillan.  It was published in the April 1957 issue of Model Airplane News.

That OTS Gambler was designed in 1948 by a Texan, Rus Snyder.  I do not know too much about its origin, but I understand that George Aldrich had an association with Rus Snyder.

There was some discussion in the OTS section on this forum at

http://stunthanger.com/smf/index.php?topic=2628.0

The airplane that is in Elwyn's photo from the last VSC was built by Frank McMillan.  (That is the same Frank McMillan that designed the Model Airplane News Gambler already mentioned in this thread.  That OTS Gambler was 2nd at the last VSC.  (64 in span, about 730 sq in with a ST 60 by Randy Smith and 53 ounces = a nice flying OTS airplane.)

Thanks Keith. I've got it straight finally. I can see how I got confused now.
