« on: February 11, 2007, 11:35:22 AM »
Fred Pierce was a looooooooooooong time Boeing employee and considered one of the very best model makers in the world.
Fred will be remembered by many for his love of family, HUGE PASSION FOR ANYTHING WITH WINGS, cooking and outdoor sporting activities. A dedicated member of many aviation organizations.
He was a member of the AMA, VFW, Sam 8, BOEING HAWKS  model club, and NRA.
Fred served with the US Airforce in Europe the the 79th fighter group...(favorite plane..what else "THE JUG!"
His memory will live in our hearts...I thank God for sharing Fred with us. What a gifted human being.
Memorial will be on Feb. 18th 2:20 at Blvd Park Presbyterian 1822 S. 128th  Seattle (near White Center) 206 243-2600

We have photos coming...and will try to post these as soon as possible.

Very sad to hear of the loss of yet another of our "family".  Prayers and Best Wishes to the friends and family in their time of loss.  Seems that there are some great memories to celebrate, and that is great.

Don,

So sorry to hear about Fred passing.

Fred built some of the most beautiful scale models I've ever seen, and was a very nice person as well. I met him as a member of the Boeing Hawks, and ran into him at most local events and swap meets. He was also a member of the RAMS club, after the Hawks lost their Kent Space Center field.

The modeling community is diminished by his loss, and he will be missed.

Bill
Not a flyer (age related), but still love the hobby!

I remember Phil Dickert telling me...after seeing this photo of himself holding one display model that he built for Boeing's old Corp. headquarters, that a few  of these models shown in this display case had been built by Fred at home.
Both Phil and now Fred are both gone...but will be remembered at two outstanding model makers. How fortunate that the Boeing Archives still have many of these models on display.
