here in england our classic comp rules allow models up to dec 1978 was this model in existance before this date i know the plan was puplished in 1982 perhaps frank himself can give some info on this i would like to use it in our uk club chaps nrxt june roy cherry

Sorry, but it didn't fly before Dec. 78. I first flew it at the Lincoln Nats in 1980 or 81, can't remember which. However, Al's Bearcat is classic legal I'm pretty sure. Both are fun to fly.

Frank - in one of these yours? I think these PIX were taken at the 81 Southwesterns in Dallas. I have been trying to put a name to them. Neither was Al's.

thank you all for the responces it is a shame that i will hot have the opertunity to have this aeroplane here in the the uk we run the c l a p a champs and the nats each year with all the classes and having dual purpose model allows me to go from circule to circule and fly both open and classic with out learning each model also it would have been nice to have had something different than all of the more popular choises that get built over and over please forgive the spelling as i have a learning difficalty roy cherry

I couldn't resist. I have had those two bearcat pictures untitled for 30 years, I had to take a shot! Everybody kept telling me they were Al's but his all had different numbers. Ron Harding for #2 was a bit of a surprise. His P-40 is in the same group of pictures.
