Title: Frank Bowman is the man!
Post by: Jared Hays on April 22, 2014, 09:06:12 PM
Sent a bent ST60 crank to Frank and he fixed it right up and had it back to me within a week.  Got the motor back together and it ran perfectly.  Thank you Thank you Thank you!!! H^^

Frank Bowman if you see this please post your info somewhere on this forum so they quit calling me for rings. I get 3 calls a week for your stuff. Stunt Hangar does not carry Frank Bowman rings.

I've placed a few orders over time but, I've had mixed results with Bowman rings.

Most I have received were very poor quality with flashing on the edges that needed to be trimmed and very rough sealing surface that was so bad it couldn't be lapped out without going into ring float territory.

Also, the shipping method was poor. Multiple rings thrown in stacked on top of each other in crushable envelope run through the postal system were all nicked and bent on arrival.

I tried to get the rings made thicker so I could lap the rough surface off and still maintain proper side gap and also to have the rings shipped in a crush proof box but these requests were met with much narcissism.

Customer service was less than stellar. Returned rings were thrown out and my concerns dismissed via email. Replacement rings were the same poor machine work and bent from shipping in the same flexible package and he expected payment for the replacements.  It's a shame he couldn't consider a few simple requests.

MM, nice compliments! Funny how I have never had these problems nor has anyone else to my knowledge.  Franks business has always been #1. I would be more inclined to believe you bent them trying to install them. All of Tom Lays reworks used Bowman rings and that's good enough for me.

Just another long-time and satisfied Frank Bowman customer. Installing his rings have been the magic touch for many of my Super Tigres, Enyas, and Mercos.  8)

He is listed in the vendors corner strangely enough as "Frank Bowman Rings".

I have had real good service from Frank also...

What I do is pay for extra service if I want it... I always send the piston and liner and request Frank's opinion about the fit ... too many people want to eat steak and only want to pay for hamburger... I am getting ready right now to send off 4 sets of P/L for rings...

Question.. I picked up a Byron Barker ST GS 40 and was wondering if he replaced the ring or stayed with stock ??

All the rings I got from Frank worked perfectly. I'm wondering if he makes a piston w/ring to fit an Enya .35?  ;D

I have thoroughly enjoyed doing business with Frank.

Ring came inside of a piece of pvc pipe very well protected
