Fox updating their website

I was looking at Fox's website and it says down for maintenance . I am cautiously optimistic so I will keep my eyes on it and see what happens.T.J.

They have a simplistic new one up that mentions their model engine past, while emphasizing their latest venture.

I think it is over for the Fox 35.  I ordered one several months back and have gotten no response.

This paragraph on the "Services" page of the foxqualityaero.com site gives a little hope:

Although we have diversified our interests over the years and had major growth in the field of remote control engines our machine shop has remained an important keystone to our operations. Please feel free to visit our Remote Control Engine site to see many of the products we have designed and developed in this area. This will give you further insight to the quality of our work.

Here's to hoping. Maybe it's only part of their portfolio, but at least they kept the domain name. Nothing is on it, as y'all have already discovered.

Maybe they'll fix their spelling and BS in the following sentence?

"Out balance of Haas CNC laths and mills plus our 23 automatic screw machines gives Fox the range to meet your company's needs."

I guess they mean "our" not "Out", and sure they meant "lathes" and not "laths". And oh yeah, 23 automatic screw machines isn't going to impress anybody these days. Those are '50's technology, maybe earlier. That's what Cox engines were made on. Brown & Sharpe Automatic Screw Machines. No shop I ever worked in had one, in 37 years in the trade. I've seen them...touring through Cox about '71. They were old stuff then.  Steve

Fox Motors may have had some Brownies but they had multiple spindle screw machines too.

fox still has some stuff,  ordered 2 complete FOX 19 needle assembly's today.  Not a bad price either.  The FOX 19 will fly the Ringmaster and other  planes like that.

Everyone I have ever met or dealt with from Fox was super nice from meeting Duke as a kid at the WRAMS show when I was in the 4H model airplane club to later on when  I went back and saw new faces in their booth to Sharon on the phone they have all been top notch people . For a sport flyer like me Fox does just fine, the song that 35 makes lugging a Nobler through the sky just does it for me. I think part of their problem is their engines if properly cared for last a long long time and they are available used really inexpensively which hurts their new sales , I probably have around 30 different Fox engines of many sizes but bought none of them new , I have bought lots of parts but that probably doesn't help them pay their bills. I can't feel sorry for Fox.  They had a pretty good run.  Think of all the other engine people who didn't last nearly as long.  The availability of the 35 as a used engine will last for a very long time.

As with most machine shops, they must produce in volume in order to make any profit.  "One-off" parts can be done, but at greater expense.

Why can't they offer a group of us a good deal on making some piston / sleeve / rod sets for your 36 combat engines? 

 They probably would, if you'd like about 5000 of them.

Good Luck, Rusty.  Over the years, there have been dozens of different Fox engines.  Do you expect them to stock spares for all of them? 

You might have some luck with the 35S parts because there were/are so many.  The lesser-known Fox motors now are "orphans".
