At the recent Bob GiesekeMemorial/DASH contest, a young man brought a plane from the past to identify. Any ideas? We learned it was built by Emilio Salazar, a well-known name in airline annals...Numero Uno pilot on the Southwest Airlines seniority list in the beginning, among other distinctions.

That's a Torp 35 Greenhead, with the yellow nylon Tornado prop, K&B streamline wheels, sealed hinglines, excellent craftsmanship.

The rudders on the stab are "warped" to shape, not a glued in offset.

Looks like a "Blackhawk" pursuit or something to me....
