Title: FOX 78
Post by: Chuck Feldman on October 17, 2009, 04:21:27 AM
I have a Fox 78 it is RC. It has no instructions with it and it is new but old. Does anyone know what fuel this engine should burn? Does anyone know what prop sizes works well with it? How about the three blade size? Thanks for your help.

I burn 18% nitro in my Fox 78's. All castor oil at 20%. Mine run control line and one is mounted on my RM 1000. The venturi and spray bar assy. are still available from Fox to convert to C/L. Nothing else has to be done to them to convert them. Awesome powerhouse although considered heavy at 19 ozs. Don't let the weight fool you they are no slouch in the "grunt" department.

Thank You Ralph and Bill.

All questions are answered.

I did a foolish thing. There was a Topflite RC Sport scale P-39 on EBay. So I put in the minimum bid. LOL I won it! Didn't really want it but now it is mine. That is what the Fox 78 will power. 60" span weights 5.5 lbs etc. Three line controls .018.  I figure that will do it.
