It sounds like it will be the ringed "59", I think the man said that the ringed and the lapped run a little different
//SNIP//
There are a number of them showing up on eBay now, both CL and RC. As the old timers pass on their heirs are getting rid of all that "toy stuff" for something to "text" with.

One thing about the ringed versions and I KNOW NOTHING else is that back in the mid '60s Duke shot himself in the foot when he marketed an RC '59 that did not have a ring stop. The rings floated and when the ends lined up, it was sleepy time and the noise stopped. He was not popular.
I owned a hobby shop for 7 years in Mt. Prospect, Il on NW highway. back then Duke simply would not listen at the dealers. He wanted us to sell Fox engines but the RC Growth only wanted "plug and play" OS engines because they went airborne with a few minutes running time. Duke wanted us to teach break-in procedures. Back then, as of now, no one wanted anything that had to burn two gallons of fuel before flying.
The old CL days of engine break-in were not passing into the newfound RC crowd that knew nothing about our love of balsa sticks & sheets, celulose glue and dope, and long break-ins.
