Fox 35 fuel
« on: July 31, 2018, 12:22:29 PM »
Is the best fuel mix for a Fox .35 in a Nobler  5% nitromethane, 29% castor oil, balance methanol?  If so, is that same mix also good for other old engines, such as the McCoy .19 and McCoy .35?

Should work fine.
They would be easier to needle at 10% nitro
Commercial fuels have other stuff in them

NO it is  not the  "best" mix  a  far better  mix  would be 28% oil with at least 1/4 synthetic, I use 1.2 synth. and  use  whatever nitro percent you need, 5 or  10, caution on using 15% in the 35  as it  can  make the crankshaft depart  forward
see my fuel article on  the engine setup  forum

Notice the uniform assertion that the Fox engine needs a high oil content.  My 35 stunt simply would not run out a tank on 20% (50/50) oil, it overheats and quits. I upped to 30% by adding 10% pure castor and it behaved just fine after that. Its messier, but it works.
